It can branch the optical fibers in one or more optical cables to provide independent communication channels for different users, so as to realize the transmission and distribution of optical signals. At the same time, the FDB also has waterproof, dustproof and other protection functions to ensure the stable operation of the optical communication system.
2.The application scenarios FDB is widely used in various communication network scenarios, such as metropolitan area network, access network, enterprise network and so on. In urban construction, optical fiber distribution boxes are installed on wall or pole outside, or in corridors, basements, outdoor cabinets and other locations to provide stable communication services for residential communities, business districts, industrial parks, etc. In addition, in the fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) project, the fiber optic box also plays a key role in achieving the last kilometer of fiber access to the home.
3.The structural characteristics The structural design of FDB usually follows the principles of modularity, compact and easy maintenance. The box is generally made of water-proof, dust-proof and corrosion-resistant materials, and has good protective properties. The internal structure includes fiber optic splice tray, adapter panel, PLC splitter tray and other parts, which is convenient for optical fiber access, splicing and jumping. The box is must equipped with the device for the cable fixing and sealing material for sealing of the housing and cable ports for outdoor application. Sometimes, the box is also equipped with a lightning protection module to deal with the harsh lightning environment.
